Hand tile cutters are available in two designs for cutting ceramic and porcelain tile. Push Cutting Tile Cutters and Pull Cutting Tile cutters. These tile cutters use a handle with a scoring wheel and breaker foot. They both use either titanium or carbide scoring wheels.
Push Cutting Tile Cutters are the newest design using 2 steel bars as the handle guide. You place the tile inside the tile cutter table and place the tile cutter handle with the scoring wheel on top of the tile edge closest to you. By placing cutting wheel on the tile edge and pushing the handle away while applying pressure scores the tile. When you have scored the tile completely you apply the breaker foot on the bottom of the tile cutter handle pushing directly down causing the tile to break along the scored surface.
