Flex guard / Sound Guard crack isolation elastomeric sheeting is a two component, pressure sensitive, elastomeric, 100% solids, proprietary modified butyl adhesive, laminated with polyester blended fabric. Together they form 20 mil (1/32") self-bonding membrane that is easily applied. (NON-ASPHALT BASE) Unlike some asphalt based products that lose elasticity over time, Flex Guard does not have the same break down. Best system for tile over tile. Easy peel and stick to any type of clean tile surface and you will have a better bond then any thin-set latex mixture on the market. Excellent for use as a crack isolation and suppression system for ceramic tile, porcelain tile, clay tile, pavers, dimensional stone (marble & granite) and hardwood flooring over any structurally sound sub-floor. Limitations Not recommended for use on any substrates where water vapor transmission and/or hydrostatic head pressure exists. Flex Guard sheeting is limited to 1/4" horizontal movement. Flex Guard sheeting CANNOT protect against vertical shear, sub floor upheaval or something other than horizontal movement.
